Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2026

This policy explains what information this site collects, how it is used, and what choices you have. It is written in plain English because privacy policies should be readable.

What this site collects

Analytics data (Google Analytics)

This site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors find and use content. Google Analytics collects information such as:

  • Pages visited and time spent on each page
  • How you arrived at the site (search engine, direct link, referral)
  • Your approximate geographic location (country or city level — not your precise address)
  • The device type and browser you are using

This data is aggregated and anonymous from the author’s perspective. The author cannot identify individual visitors from Analytics reports.

Google Analytics uses cookies — small text files stored in your browser — to track visits across sessions. The main cookie Google Analytics sets is _ga, which persists for two years by default. A second cookie, _gid, persists for 24 hours.

What the author uses this data for: Understanding which topics readers find useful, so that future content can be directed accordingly. That is the only use.

What the author does not do: Sell, share, or otherwise monetise visitor data. The author has no access to personally identifiable information about visitors.

To opt out of Google Analytics tracking across all websites, you can install the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

For more detail on how Google handles Analytics data, see Google’s Privacy Policy.

Affiliate links

Some articles on this site contain affiliate links — links to third-party products or services where the site may earn a small commission if you sign up or make a purchase through that link. There is no additional cost to you.

Affiliate links are disclosed at the point they appear in an article and on the Disclaimer page.

When you click an affiliate link and visit a third-party site, that site’s own privacy policy governs any data they collect. This site has no visibility into what third parties do with your data after you leave.

Comments and contact

This site does not currently have a comments section enabled. If you contact the author directly (for example, by email), any information you provide will be used only to respond to your message and will not be shared with third parties.

Your choices

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers allow you to block or delete cookies. Note that blocking analytics cookies will not affect your ability to read content on this site.

You can also use the Google Analytics Opt-out Add-on linked above, or a browser extension such as uBlock Origin to prevent analytics scripts from loading.

Position disclosure (site-level)

The author currently holds no positions in any securities. Where the author does hold positions in securities discussed on the site, this is disclosed at the article level on each relevant piece.
